Terms of Service
Effective date: May 23, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CallsignFinder (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
CallsignFinder is an independent tool that indexes and presents publicly available data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Universal Licensing System (ULS). The Service allows users to search amateur radio callsign availability, track callsigns of interest, and receive notifications about status changes.
CallsignFinder is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the FCC.
3. Data Accuracy and Disclaimer
FCC licensing data is sourced from publicly available FCC ULS files and is updated Monday through Friday. While we make reasonable efforts to keep data current and accurate, we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or reliability of any data presented.
You should always verify critical information directly with the FCC ULS before making decisions about vanity callsign applications. CallsignFinder is not liable for any decisions made based on information presented by the Service.
4. User Accounts
Certain features (watchlist, email notifications) require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we determine, at our sole discretion, are being misused.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair it
- Attempt to scrape, crawl, or harvest data in bulk without written permission
- Use automated systems to place excessive load on the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
6. Alerts and Notifications
6a. Email Alerts
By adding callsigns to your watchlist with notifications enabled, you consent to receive email alerts about those callsigns. You can disable notifications or remove callsigns at any time from your account settings.
6b. SMS Alerts
Paid subscribers may optionally enable SMS alerts by providing a mobile phone number in Account Settings. By enabling SMS alerts, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from CallsignFinder about callsigns on your watchlist.
- Program: CallsignFinder Watchlist Alerts
- Message frequency: Varies — alerts are sent only when a relevant FCC status change is detected, typically a few times per month at most
- Message & data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan
- To opt out: Reply STOP to any alert message to cancel. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent to that number
- To re-enable: Text START to our number, then re-enable SMS alerts in Account Settings
- Support: Contact us through the website for assistance
SMS alerts are delivered via Twilio. Standard carrier filtering rules apply. CallsignFinder is not responsible for messages blocked or delayed by carriers.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CallsignFinder and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to missed callsign application windows, data inaccuracies, or service outages.
8. Intellectual Property
The CallsignFinder name, logo, and original content are the property of their respective owners. FCC licensing data is public domain as a government work. Your use of the Service does not grant you any intellectual property rights in the Service or its content.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
